Background. J.T. Ryan, www.jtryan.com,
works closely with IPG-US to supply and support Long-Term
Care products to both their own clients and to IPG's agencies.
Michael Thresher, owner of J.T. Ryan, is considered one of
the most knowledgeable Long-Term Care experts in the industry.
Business Challenges. There are only so many people
one person can talk to on the telephone and in person in one
day. Within the insurance industry Long-Term Care products
are often the most confusing and least understood products
agents deal with. With a growing demand on Michael Thresher's
time and knowledge, it was necessary to find a way to share
his knowledge with more agents, faster and keep the accuracy
of the information intact.
Since Michael also helps support IPG represented agencies
throughout the United States for Long-Term Care products it
was important to keep IPG abreast of product changes and answer
questions for their agencies also.
Solution. JVL developed
a dynamic web site allowing J.T. Ryan to add and update a
variety of Long-Term Care information and make it available
to their clients 24 X 7. Because of the close business relationship
with IPG, JVL developed a shared
mySQL database that allows both J.T. Ryan and IPG to update
and edit Long-Term Care products. When J.T. Ryan makes a change
in their administration area for their web site, it automatically
updates the Long-Term Care area of the IPG web site. Thus,
eliminating the need for J.T. Ryan to then contact IPG personnel
and update the same information again. This saves everyone
time and resources, all the while keeping both web sites and
both companies clients up-to-date with the latest and most
accurate Long-Term Care information.
